Tee Freeman is a an Artivist (Artist + Activist), a community practitioner, PhD candidate in Social Psychology committed to designing equitable healing spaces for Black youth and youth of color (with an emphasis on Black girls). She is a Vera Fellow, Ronald E. Mcnair, Psi Chi Honors, and John Jay College of Criminal Justice alumni. 

She holds an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice from Queensborough Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and a Master of Science in Social Psychology from Clark University.

 

 

She is also the founder of Takeover Academy LLC, a curriculum and program development consulting firm using a mixed-method - interdisciplinary and embodiment-centered approach to youth development. Tee designs and evaluates curriculum, initiatives, and organizational systems that center the humanity and well-being of Black youth and youth of color.

Tee is also trained as a researcher-practitioner, workshop facilitator, and public speaker. As an educator and researcher, she believes that when we engage Black girls, women, and femmes as architectural designers who design their own equitable learning, growth, and healing spaces, they can champion their own liberation in spite of being subjected to unjust systems.
